Pete Popovich has been teaching golf for more than twenty years. As most aspiring golfers his career started in the caddie yard. Upon receiving a degree in Professional Golf Management he honed his skills as a teacher/player in the Carolina Low Country. As his knowledge of the swing and game grew so did his success as a player. He moved onto playing various tours around the country and his success and achievements are a tribute to his abilities on and off the golf course.
Pete’s knowledge of the game of golf has been forged through his years of playing and working with some of today’s most acclaimed instructors. His ability to teach has helped a wide variety of golfers; men or women, old or young, beginner or accomplished player; enjoy the game on a wider scale. To many of his students his astute diagnosis and distinguished use of words is his greatest attribute. To his students he is one of a rare breed – a proven tournament winner who also happens to be a wonderful teacher.
Pete has not ever considered himself a ‘teacher’. He prefers to be known as a translator of information. If given to much information the golf swing can be a very complicated and frustrating endeavor. Pete has always been able to take the right amount of information and apply it in a simple and clear manner that is easily understood by all students. To date all of his students have been extremely pleased as their games have flourished. When asked about the success of his students he humbly replies “Improving the games of my students and making the game more enjoyable is why I am here.”
